STEPHAN VON KALBEN
Stephan von Kalben is a partner with ACTS Electric.
Stephan von Kalben is a highly accomplished partner at ACTS Electric, specializing in building automation, access control, intrusion detection, electrical solutions, and integrations. With an exceptional ability to think outside the box, Stephan is sought after for his expertise in bringing seemingly impossible projects to life.
Stephan’s journey began at a young age, as he embarked on his passion for technology and programming. At just 14 years old, while attending middle school, he enrolled in computer programming classes at the University of Pueblo in Pueblo, CO. By 15, Stephan demonstrated his dedication by joining the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) to pursue HVAC and refrigeration programs, graduating at the top of his class three years later.
Simultaneously pursuing his studies at RSES, Stephan embarked on a four-year electrical apprenticeship with the State of Colorado at the age of 16. By the time he turned 20, he became a Journeyman Electrician, and a year later, he achieved the prestigious title of Master Electrician in the State of Colorado. Stephan’s expertise led him to design HVACR systems across Colorado, eventually gaining national recognition as a pioneer in Geothermal HVAC design. Notably, he designed and constructed the widely acclaimed Ground Source Refrigeration unit, GSR TM, which gained nationwide recognition.
Stephan’s expertise extended beyond his technical achievements. He was invited by the local RSES chapter to teach HVACR training classes, which he passionately did for a total of three years, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring professionals.

DOUG ENGLISH
Doug English is a partner with ACTS Electric.
I began my venture in the electrical industry at the age of 16, actively engaging with my father’s construction company, ACTS Home Improvement and Building, located in Illinois. Following my marriage to my esteemed wife, Tonda, I relocated to Colorado Springs in 2005. Presently, I am blessed with the privilege of raising two exceptional boys, Gunnar and Landan. In pursuit of professional growth, I enrolled in the apprenticeship program at IBEW Local 113, thus embarking on a path that culminated in the attainment of my Electrical Journeyman’s license in 2008. Through my tenure as an electrician, I seized the opportunity to expand my expertise in the electrical domain and acquaint myself with Building Automation Systems.
The process of installing Building Automation Systems instilled in me a profound appreciation for meticulous attention to detail, for even the slightest oversight can compromise the optimal functionality of the entire system. In 2017, I achieved the distinction of acquiring my Master Electrical License, a milestone that catalyzed the inception of ACTS Electric. With a resolute mission to address prevailing market gaps, ACTS Electric strives to deliver superlative products that epitomize unparalleled quality, leaving no room for compromise in even the most minute detail.
